Buzzed drinking game: how to play (and a free version)
Buzzed is the party card game where every card tells someone, or everyone, to drink: votes, challenges and confessions, read out one card at a time. Here’s how the Buzzed card game works, the house rules people add, and a free Buzzed-style deck you can play on one phone right now.

Buzzed drinking game: quick rules
Players sit in a circle. On your turn, draw the top card and read it out loud. The card says who drinks: you, a player you choose, the group, or everyone who fits a description (“drink if you’ve ever…”). Do what it says, then the next player draws. The one extra rule: if you laugh at a card, you drink. Play until you run out of cards or decide to stop.
What is the Buzzed card game?
Buzzed is a party drinking card game made by What Do You Meme?. The box is a deck of prompt cards (the original has 180, and newer packs add more) for groups of about 3 to 20 adults. There’s no board, no scoring and no winner: the cards are the whole game.
The cards mix group votes, head-to-head competitions, “drink if” statements and small confessions. It’s aimed at adults of legal drinking age, and the makers point out that drinking isn’t required: your cup can hold anything.

How to play Buzzed
Sit in a circle
Everyone has a drink. Shuffle the deck and put it face down in the middle.
Draw and read
The first player draws the top card and reads it out loud to the group.
Do what the card says
The card decides who drinks: the reader, a player they pick, everyone who fits, or the whole group after a vote or mini-game.
The laugh rule
If you laugh at a card, you drink. It’s the one rule that’s always on.
Pass it on
The next player draws. Keep going until the deck runs out or everyone wants to stop.

Play a Buzzed-style game online for free

Buzzed house rules worth adding
- Sips only: every “drink” means one or two sips, never a whole drink.
- Water card: shuffle in a few blank cards that mean “everyone drinks water”.
- Pass once: each player can skip one card per game.
- The laugh rule counts for the reader too: if you laugh while reading, drink.
- Make your own cards: everyone writes one card before the game; shuffle them in.

Tips for a good game
- Read every card out loud, even the embarrassing ones: that’s the fun.
- Keep the drinks small: cards come round fast in small groups.
- Anyone can switch to water at any time, no questions asked.
