How to play Truth or Drink

1. Add players

   Type everyone’s names (at least two). The phone asks each person in turn, so nobody gets skipped.

2. Choose the level

   Chill keeps it friendly, Classic gets personal, Wild asks bold questions about dating and secrets. You can change it at any time.

3. Answer or drink

   Read the question out loud. The player answers honestly, or takes the sips on the card instead. Tap Answered or Drank instead and pass the phone.

4. Check the scores

   At the end of the deck you’ll see who answered the most questions and who dodged the most. Bragging rights only.

Truth or Drink rules everyone should agree on

• Honest answers only. A dodge or an obvious lie counts as drinking.
• No follow-up interrogations: one question, one answer. Others can ask a single follow-up, and the player may drink to skip it.
• What’s said here stays here. No screenshots, no retelling.
• Anyone can drink instead. Nobody has to explain why they chose not to answer.
• Sips, not chugging. Bold questions cost up to 3 sips; turn on “Go easy” to cap every card at 2.

Truth or Drink vs Truth or Dare

Truth or Drink drops the dares: every card is a question, and drinking is your only way out. That makes it calmer and more conversational, great for two or three people, dates and small groups. The format was made famous by a web video series of the same name; the questions here are our own.

Truth or Drink variations

Truth or Drink without alcohol

Set No alcohol: a dodged question becomes a penalty point, and the player with the fewest points at the end wins.

Hot seat

One player answers five questions in a row, asked by the group. Everyone takes a turn in the hot seat.

Write your own

Each player writes three questions on paper; mix them into the deck and draw them alongside the phone’s cards.

Truth, dare or drink

Add a dare option: the player can answer, do a dare set by the group, or drink.

Tips for a good game

• Read questions out loud so everyone hears the same one.
• The player who asks can’t judge the answer; only the group can call a dodge.
• Switch the level down if anyone looks uncomfortable. It’s a game, not an interview.
