Spin the Bottle: play online
Spin the bottle, then see what happens
Add the players sitting in the circle and spin with a tap or a swipe. Whoever the bottle points at gets a truth, a dare, some sips or a free pass. Party mode has no kissing; Kiss or drink is the classic.
Spin the Bottle: quick rules
Sit in a circle. The first player spins the bottle; whoever it points at does what the outcome says: answer a truth, do a dare, take or give sips, make a rule or get a free pass. That player spins next. If it points back at the spinner, spin again.
How to play Spin the Bottle
Make a circle
Add everyone’s names in the order you’re sitting, so the bottle points at the right person. No names? It uses six numbered seats.
Spin
Tap the bottle, press Spin or swipe across it. A harder swipe spins it further.
Do the outcome
Whoever the bottle points at gets an outcome: a truth from the spinner, a dare, sips to take or give, a rule or a free pass. Anyone can take the sips instead of a truth or dare.
Pass the spin
The player it pointed at spins next. If the bottle points back at the spinner, they spin again.
Spin the Bottle outcomes (Party mode)
Party mode is the default and involves no kissing. These are the outcomes the bottle can hand out:
- The player it points at takes 2 sips.
- The player it points at gives out 3 sips to anyone.
- Truth: the spinner asks the player it points at any question. Answer honestly or take 2 sips.
- Dare: the spinner sets the player it points at a dare. Do it or take 3 sips.
- The player it points at and the spinner both take 1 sip. Cheers!
- Safe! the player it points at spins next.
- Water break: the player it points at has some water and picks the next song.
- The player it points at makes a rule that lasts until their next spin. Break it and take 1 sip.
- Categories: the player it points at picks the category and starts. First to stall takes 2 sips.
- Compliment round: the spinner gives the player it points at a genuine compliment, then the player it points at spins.
- The player it points at does their best impression of the spinner. If nobody laughs, the player it points at takes 1 sip.
- Everyone except the player it points at takes 1 sip.
- The player it points at tells the group their most embarrassing moment this year, or takes 2 sips.
- Swap seats: the player it points at and the spinner trade places, then the player it points at spins.
- The player it points at spins twice: both players they land on take 1 sip.
Classic Spin the Bottle: kiss or drink
The original party game is a kissing game: whoever the bottle points at kisses the spinner. Our Kiss or drink mode keeps that spirit with a way out on every card: a kiss on the cheek counts, a blown kiss counts, and anyone can take the sips instead. It’s for adults who all want to play it; if anyone in the circle doesn’t, use Party mode.
Playing with a real bottle
Use an empty bottle on a flat floor or table and sit in a tight circle. If the bottle stops between two people, the one it points at more directly goes; if nobody can agree, re-spin. Keep this page open to draw an outcome after each spin.
Spin the Bottle variations
- Truth or dare bottle
- Every spin is a truth or a dare chosen by the spinner. Use the truth, dare or drink wheel for a mix.
- Bottle roulette
- Fill a few cups with different drinks (or water); the bottle picks who drinks which cup.
- Seven minutes
- The classic sleepover twist: the two players step aside for a short chat. Keep it to talking, and only if both want to.
- Spin the bottle without alcohol
- Set No alcohol: every sip becomes a penalty point; the lowest score picks the next game.
Tips for a good game
- Sit close in an even circle so it’s clear who the bottle points at.
- Agree on the mode before the first spin, and let anyone step out at any time.
- Mix in water: the Party mode includes water-break outcomes.
Play it safe: every game here works with sips of any drink, or none at all. Only adults of legal drinking age should drink alcohol, alternate with water, and never drink and drive. [How to drink responsibly](/drink-responsibly/)
