Movie drinking games: quick rules
Choose 4–6 rules before the film starts (or deal everyone a bingo card). Whenever a rule happens on screen, everyone takes a sip; for bingo, only the players with that square do. Keep a water glass next to every drink: a two-hour film is a long game.

Long films need gentle rules. For an epic fantasy trilogy, take a sip only for the rarest things (someone falls, a dramatic eagle arrival, a long walk to epic music) or you’ll be done by the second film. For a wizard-school series, pick one house and sip when it gets points. For a space saga, sip when someone says “I have a bad feeling about this”. The trick with any franchise: rules for rare moments, not common ones.
Pacing a two-hour drinking game
A film is long, and some rules land every minute. Test your rule set against the first 10 minutes: if everyone has had more than three sips, cut a rule. Put a water rule in (every time someone on screen drinks water, you do too), pause for snacks halfway, and switch the cards to Any drink or No alcohol so everyone can play.
