The free drinking board game

Drinking board game: play online
42 squares from Start to Finish
Roll the die, move your token and do what the square says: sips, dares, rules, shortcuts and water stops. First to cross the Finish wins. Play on one phone or print the board.
Add 2–8 players, choose how many laps win, and roll. Tokens hop along the board, shortcuts and setbacks move you automatically, and “miss a turn” squares are remembered.
Drinking board game: quick rules
Everyone starts on square 0. On your turn, roll one die and move that many squares along the snaking path, then do what your square says: take or give sips, play a mini-game, make a rule, or drink water. Some squares move you forward or back. First player to reach Finish wins.
How to play the drinking board game
Players and tokens
Add 2–8 players above (or print the board and use coins or bottle caps as tokens).
Roll and move
Roll one die and move your token that many squares. The path snakes left to right, then right to left.
Do the square
Every square has a rule: take a sip, give sips, a mini-game, a dare, a lasting rule, a snack stop or water.
Shortcuts and setbacks
Green squares move you forward, pink ones back. The move happens once: do the square you end up on, but don’t chain another move.
Miss a turn, roll again
Blue squares make you miss your next turn; the Double square lets you roll again immediately.
Finish
First to reach square 41 wins (you don’t need an exact roll). Play 2 or 3 laps for a longer game.

Drunk Monopoly rules
Already have Monopoly? Add these rules. Play for a set time (90 minutes); the richest player at the end wins.
- Pass Go: hand out 2 sips.
- Pay rent: take 1 sip for every 200 in rent (so small rents are free).
- Buy a property: everyone else raises a glass to the new landlord.
- Jail: while you’re in jail, you drink water only. Roll doubles to get out.
- Free Parking: make a rule that lasts until someone else lands there.
- Chance and Community Chest: a card that costs money costs a sip; a card that pays you lets you give one.
- Build a hotel: everyone on your colour set’s side of the board takes a sip.
How to play Drinkopoly (and Drinkopoly-style games)
Drinkopoly is a commercial drinking board game in the style of Monopoly: instead of buying streets, players land on squares with drinking tasks, dares and rules. Our free board works the same way, with a race to the finish instead of properties, and it adds water squares, snack stops and a “Go easy” cap so the game lasts the evening.
You can also turn almost any board game into a drinking game: Snakes and Ladders (a sip for every snake), Trivial Pursuit (a sip for every wrong answer), Scrabble (hand out a sip for every triple-word score) or Jenga (see Drunk Jenga).

Drinking board game variations
- Team board
- Pairs share a token and split the sips. Great with 10–16 players.
- Long game
- Three laps, and each lap’s winner makes a new rule.
- No-alcohol board
- Choose No alcohol: every sip becomes a point, and the finish order decides the winner.
Tips for a good game
- Print the board on A3 if you can; it’s easier to read across a table.
- Use coins or bottle caps as tokens.
- Obey the water squares; they’re there for a reason.
