The easiest Halloween party game: everyone gets a different card of party moments (someone’s costume falls apart, trick-or-treaters knock, two people come as the same thing). Tap or cross a square when it happens and take a sip; the first to complete a line hands out 3 sips, and a full card wins the costume contest tiebreak. Play Kings Cup with Halloween house rules: Ace is a Zombie waterfall (everyone drinks, slowly, arms out), 2 is Pick a victim, 7 is Ghost (last to say “boo” drinks), Jack is Never have I ever… been scared of, Queen is Witch’s questions and King is Make a curse (a rule for the rest of the game). Costume rules that last all night

• Stay in character: whenever someone calls your costume’s name, answer in character or take a sip.
• Mask off: anyone who takes off part of their costume takes a sip.
• Couples costume: when one half of a couples costume drinks, so does the other.
• No costume, no pass: guests who didn’t dress up can’t pass cards all night.
• Costume contest: everyone votes at midnight; the winner hands out 5 sips (any drink).

Pumpkin-carving challenge

Teams of two carve a pumpkin in 20 minutes. Everyone votes for the best; the losing teams take a sip for every place they finished below first. Keep knives for sober carvers only and do the carving before the drinks start.
